Former "Once and Again" star Steven Weber is moving back into television, signing on as the star of a pilot for ABC.

Weber will play the title role in "The DA," a drama written by James Duff ("Enterprise") and produced by Warner Bros. TV, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show revolves around a veteran, career-minded prosecutor who teams up with a young investigator to solve the murder of a colleague.

In addition to "Once and Again," Weber has starred in "Wings" and "The Weber Show." He recently completed a stint in the Broadway hit "The Producers."

In other pilot news:

  • Maybe they can call it "Everybody Loves Tony." CBS has picked up a comedy pilot based on the life of Tony Kornheiser, a Washington Post sports columnist and co-host of ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption." The show, from writer Jeff Martin and producer Lindy De Koven, will be about a sportswriter/TV host balancing work and family obligations -- not unlike "Everybody Loves Raymond." Kornheiser is a consultant on the project.

  • CBS has also ordered "Crazy Love," a comedy about a middle-aged couple who adopt a Chinese girl. The pilot order is contingent on casting.

  • FOX has picked up a drama set at a luxury hotel in the Hamptons from writer Peter Elkoff and director Dave Meyers. The project is similar to pilots at UPN, which is remaking the 1980s series "Hotel," and ABC, which is working on an untitled project from producer Armyan Bernstein ("Spy Game," "Bring It On" ).
